Exploring all things Quilt Just some of the topics you'll find here. My Grandmother made quilts, my Mother made beautiful quilts, I make both Traditional and Art Quilts. I've made my share of traditional quilts: for my beds, for my kids beds, for grandchildren, for gifts.. but I'm running out of places to put them. In my Art Quilts, I love to explore color and techniques to take my quilting further than copying a pattern from a book. Sharing those techniques is another thing I like to do, hence this website. Meet Quilt Woman
She came to me in a remarkable dream one night. She showed me a studio full of beautiful quilts and said "I started with nothing and I made all these." Then she went and lay down on a brass bed and became a quilt. She's the impish quilter inside who makes me try new things, like painting on fabric, sun-dying, Texture-Magic, and color schemes. She's the one who urges me to buy wonderful books on techniques and attend workshops where excellent teachers are available. And, of course, she's always buying fabric for the "stash" She mostly writes everything you read on Quilt-Woman Blog...I just edit. Texture MagicI have been playing with Texture Magic, a new product from Superior Threads, for a while. Take a look at what it can do. I can think of endless possibilities and once you see it, I'm sure you'll agree. -- |
